Inspired by stories of pilgrimages throughout the world, I plan to walk (in stages) from St Germans in Cornwall to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

In 2014 I set off to walk the Camino de Santiago but for various reasons I never made it. I have no regrets about abandoning the walk, but it’s always played on my mind that I never completed the pilgrimage.
This year I’ve decided to start again, but my starting point will be St Germans in Cornwall, rather than St John Pied de Port in France. To read more about the reasons why I left the Camino and why I am going back, please read Why I’m Walking My Cornish Camino. I will be completing the walk in stages to fit the pilgrimage around my full time work using three paths, the Cornish Celtic Way, (incorporating the Saints Way and St Michaels Way), the South West Coast Path, and the Camino Del Norte from Santander.
If you are interested in walking the Way of St James yourself, you can find more information at Way of Saint James in Galicia or The Pilgrimage Routes to Santiago de Compostela. More information on the Cornish Celtic Way can be found here, St Michael’s Way here and here, and the South West Coast Path here.

Why I’m walking My Cornish Camino
